We are delighted to announce that the NI Science Festival will return for another 11 days of amazing events between 16 - 26 February 2023. This year we will be offering more than 200 events, focusing on digital technology, engineering, chemistry, the natural world and much more. So, if you’re passionate about science and can devote some time, in-person, in February, we'd love to have you on our amazing team of volunteers!
The objective of the Festival is to make science accessible to everyone and we facilitate this by programming a variety of workshops, talks and interactive activities for young people, families, schools and adults.
As a Festival volunteer you will be asked to fulfill a range of duties, including helping out at various events, dealing with registration queries, ticketing and visitor surveys, as well as providing general duties at live outdoor and venue-based events. As a Festival volunteer you will, of course, receive a Festival t-shirt, along with free tickets to a selection of events taking place across the 11 days.
In the past, we've usually held an induction evening, which is also when you are registered as official STEM Ambassadors. This year, however, we will not be doing this. Instead, we will ask you to join a Zoom briefing online, just to run through the programme, with the chance to ask any questions and to meet others within the 2023 team.
You will be required to attend one of these online sessions:
Afternoon Session: Tuesday 24th January at 2pm - online link to follow
Evening session: Wednesday 25th January at 7pm - online link to follow
** Remember, if you have already completed our STEM Ambassador programme, please ensure to indicate this in the required section below.
Please note:
You must be over 18 to volunteer
Should you require any further information, please email volunteers@nisciencefestival.com or call 028 9162 9204
Please complete and submit this form by 12 noon on Friday, January 20th, 2023.
