Do you ever struggle telling right from left? Or are you amazed at why some people find it challenging?
In this interactive talk, we will take a deep dive into the science of right-left (laterality) discrimination. Often considered an innate ability, many of us need to make a conscious effort when telling right from left. While taking a wrong turn on a car journey may be trivial, in industries such as healthcare, aviation, or shipping, right-left decisions are critical and can have potentially catastrophic consequences.
In this session, we will explore left-right error in healthcare and conduct some ‘live experiments’. Importantly, we will discuss strategies to help individuals make accurate laterality decisions. It’s not right to be left out!
