Belfast Maritime Festival - Science Street
Event Description

This September, Belfast’s spectacular waterfront will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of sea, ships, stories and shared experiences as the Belfast Maritime Festival makes its much-anticipated return. NI Science Festival will bring back Science Street with experiments, performances, demos and activities for young and old alike.

The Science Street will explore a rich mix of subjects including marine research, biodiversity, local wildlife, water chemistry, geology, engineering, and technical innovation — all presented in a way that is engaging, hands-on, and accessible for families and visitors of all ages. From rockpools to robotics, we aim to create a welcoming environment where people can discover the science of the sea and the stories of those who work to understand and protect it.

Stretching across the Maritime Mile, the festival invites locals and visitors alike to dive into a weekend of discovery. The iconic Titanic Quarter will be alive with activity, bringing together heritage, innovation and imagination across multiple themed zones.
