Foraging Afloat

Food For Thought
Foraging Afloat
Event Description

Spring is arriving on Strangford Lough and with it the arrival of an array of seasonal wild food emerges from the land and water. Join Rory Martin of Strangford Lough Activity Centre and David Thompson & Celia Spouncer from Wild About Tours for a unique guide to the sights and flavours of the area.

Rory will guide a kayaking tour with some facts and folklore of the islands, castles, rocks and wrecks before stopping off at an island where David will take you on a foraging workshop looking at the wild edibles above and below the shoreline. Afterwards, share the salty delights and unique taste of Strangford Lough with a shore side cooking demonstration and hearty lunch with Wild Kitchen Chef Celia.

Warm clothes and sturdy shoes are advised.
