Seeking to appoint new voluntary Board Members

30th April 2025

The Northern Ireland Science Festival is seeking to appoint new voluntary Board Members to help guide our strategic direction and support the delivery of one of the largest science festivals in Europe.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with professional experience in:

Human Resources (HR) – with knowledge of best practices in recruitment, policy, and organisational culture.

Finance – with a strong understanding of financial governance, budgeting, and charity finance.

As we enter our second decade, we are expanding our ambitions to reach new audiences, deepen our impact, and strengthen our governance. Board members play a vital role in shaping our future, supporting our team, and ensuring we remain sustainable, inclusive, and innovative.

There are 5-6 board meetings per year which can be attended in person or virtually.

To apply, please send a short cover letter outlining your interest in the role and relevant experience, along with your CV, to sarah@nisciencefestival.com by 28 May 2025.

If you would like to talk about the role before your application you can contact our Chair Professor Victoria Simms on v.simms@ulster.ac.uk

We particularly welcome applications from individuals currently underrepresented in the arts, science, and non-profit sectors.
