Event Description
Join us for an insightful session on the challenges of recycling black silage wrap, a material that is prevalent across Northern Ireland's fields as part of the NI Science Festival 2025.
Despite its widespread use, black silage wrap is currently not recycled, creating a significant disposal challenge for farmers, The Future Island-Island project has been exploring the complexities surrounding this material and its environmental impact.
This event will explore the barriers to effective recycling of silage wrap and available options for managing this waste.Through this discussion, we aim to raise awareness and drive forward solutions for tackling the growing issue of farm-based plastic waste and explore sustainable approaches to waste management in the farming sector.
Be part of the conversation and contribute to a greener future for Northern Ireland’s farming sector!
