Our Future, Our Island: Music, Community and Environment
Event Description

Join us for a creative and interactive one-day workshop on Rathlin Island, where we explore the exciting potential of recycling materials through music!

We're using music to bring the community together, showing how waste can be creatively reused while sparking discussions on sustainability and the environment.

Workshop Highlights:
🎵 Body Percussion Session – Explore rhythm and movement through sound.
🎵 Co-construction of Instruments – Use recycled materials to create your own musical instruments.
🎵 Musical Tech – Produce sounds with materials like old wrecked boats, and experiment with sound technology (e.g., Korg Minidrum and Soundbeam).
🎵 Collaborative Song Creation – If time permits, help us create a song inspired by what Rathlin means to you, collecting voices from the community to shape a new oral history.

Together, we’ll discover new, sustainable solutions while having fun with music and creativity!

NOTE: Please wear appropriate footwear for physical activity.
