360° Science on Rathlin Island
Event Description

Whether you’re a family looking for a day trip, a couple wanting a Valentine’s weekend away, or an adventurer wanting to dive into a world of culture and lore, Rathlin Island off the north coast has the perfect programme packed with 360° of science.

Just a short ferry ride away lies an island full of lighthouses, bushcraft, photography workshops, arts and crafts, and marine activities for the whole family. There will be talks and walks from islanders and visiting scientists, along with plenty of kids’ events including arts and crafts, book readings and immersive AR experiences.

There is also a special chance to hear from the Future Island-Island project, an innovative collection of scientists and designers from Ulster University, Queens University Belfast and partner organisations, who are looking at how Rathlin can chart a course for sustainable islands.
