Event Description
Northern Ireland has a valuable and relatively untapped renewable energy resource right under our feet in the form of geothermal energy.
Drop in to the GeoEnergy NI Discovery Centre and explore Northern Ireland’s huge geothermal potential as a sustainable energy source for heating homes, buildings, industries, and agriculture. We will be located right beside the Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre, itself a landmark building that is already heated by geothermal energy. Through interactive technologies including VR/AR software you can learn about Northern Ireland’s unique geology which makes geothermal energy possible here and you discover how the GeoEnergy NI project led by the Department for the Economy aims to harness this energy source to help Northern Ireland achieve its net zero carbon targets by 2050.
