About

Eoghan Daltun is a conservator, farmer, author, and passionate rewilder. Raised in Dublin, he has lived and traveled extensively, spending seven years studying sculpture in Carrara, Tuscany. In 2009, Eoghan sold his Kilmainham cottage—painstakingly rebuilt from a ruin dating back to the 1750s—and purchased a long-abandoned 73-acre farm near Eyeries on the Beara Peninsula, West Cork. Initially ecologically degraded by overgrazing and invasive plants, the land has since been transformed into a thriving temperate rainforest under his care.

Eoghan's efforts to restore this vibrant ecosystem are detailed in his award-winning memoir An Irish Atlantic Rainforest: A Personal Journey into the Magic of Rewilding. Balancing rewilding with High Nature Value farming, Eoghan reflects deeply on the ecological crisis and its solutions, offering insight and inspiration for those seeking to reconnect with and restore the natural world.
