Our first visit took us to the Moria Conservation Works Depot, where we met an inspiring group of apprentices and skilled craftspeople.. Their creativity, precision, and passion are central to preserving Northern Ireland’s historic environment, and it was a privilege to begin capturing their stories.
By highlighting heritage skills, craft, and sustainable practices, we are showcasing different elements aspects that science can be applied to through people, place, and lived experience, broadening how audiences connect with the subject and how we value our archaeological sites, historic monuments, and listed buildings, while also celebrating the people who protect and preserve them.

Filming will continue over the coming weeks at historic sites across Northern Ireland, exploring the legacy of these important projects and the people behind them, helping to engage new audiences and promote pathways into heritage skills and sustainable careers.
Special thanks to our videographer Will, and to Ewan, Jenny, Erin, Geordie, and Alistair.
