Tiny Helpers or Troublemakers? How Germs in Our Mouth Affect Our Health

Tiny Helpers or Troublemakers? How Germs in Our Mouth Affect Our Health
Event Details

In this presentation, we’ll explore how tiny germs, known as microbes, live in our mouths and play a big role in keeping us healthy—or sometimes making us sick.

We’ll learn about the microbiome, the community of microbes in our bodies, and how it helps protect us. When things go wrong, these microbes can cause inflammation, which is how our bodies respond to problems. We’ll also discuss how oral health affects our overall health in simple ways, including how it connects to illnesses like cancer. To make it fun, we’ll end with an interactive activity!

Available for in school presentations. Please email Kifah - khawamdeh01@qub.ac.uk to arrange a date and time.
