Step back in time — and fast-forward to the future! In this imaginative workshop, pupils will blend vintage newsreel flair with modern game design to explore how technology, storytelling, and creativity have evolved.
Inspired by fascinating archive footage from the Northern Ireland Screen Digital Film Archive, pupils will script, film, and edit their own 1960s-style news reports using green screen technology — all while showcasing original games they create in Microsoft MakeCode Arcade.
It’s a brilliant mix of history, coding, and digital media, giving pupils the chance to see how far technology has come and imagine where it might take us next. Expect laughter, learning, and plenty of creative flair as young reporters bring the News of the Future to life!
