Event Description

CCEA is hosting a workshop in partnership with the RSC that introduces the microscale approach to classroom practical work. During the session we will explore the advantages of microscale approach and consider whether it is a more sustainable approach. This hands-on session enables teachers of CCEA GCSE Chemistry and the Chemistry units of DAS and SAS to explore how some prescribed practicals can be delivered in microscale, promoting a high-level of knowledge and understanding of the chemistry concepts.

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • Explored the advantages of microscale approach to the learner, teacher, technician, and the classroom.
  • Compared the environmental impact of the microscale practical approach vs. the traditional set up.
  • Used and evaluated microscale techniques.
