Light & Memory: The Future of Storing Our Digital Lives marks that for 180 years, Queen’s University Belfast has shaped lives, driven innovation, and strengthened communities.
In partnership with Seagate, Smart Nano, and the Photonic Integration and Advanced Data Storage Centre for Doctoral Training, this event explores how humans have stored information over time. From the very first punch cards to the mind-blowing possibilities of light-based storage, discover the amazing story of data and why it matters for the future.
Students will enjoy fun, hands-on demos from PhD researchers, interactive discussions about digital technology, and even get the chance to vote on what should be sealed inside Queen’s University’s digital time capsule!
