Science Street at Belfast Maritime Festival

For Belfast Maritime Festival 2023 and 2025, NI Science Festival's 'Science Street' brought experiments, performances, demos and activities for young and old alike to the Maritime Mile. The Science Street explores a rich mix of subjects including marine research, biodiversity, local wildlife, water chemistry, geology, engineering, and technical innovation — all presented in a way that is engaging, hands-on, and accessible for families and visitors of all ages. From rockpools to robotics, we aim to create a welcoming environment where people can discover the science of the sea and the stories of those who work to understand and protect it.

The Maritime Mile

Stretching across the Maritime Mile, the festival invites locals and visitors alike to dive into a weekend of discovery. The iconic Titanic Quarter comes alive with activity, bringing together heritage, innovation and imagination across multiple themed zones.
