FameLab Opens!

1st October 2023

We are delighted to be partnering with Ulster University and Queens University, Belfast to be part of the new FameLab UK Regional Hub Organisations for 2023-2024!

FameLab UK aims to encourage scientists including social scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians to find their voices and inspire and excite the public imagination. Researchers from across the country will gather in regional and national bouts to contend for the title of Britain’s best science communicator. FameLab is run by Cheltenham Science Festival.

In 2015 Emer Maguire, a Clinical Anatomy student at Queen’s University Belfast, won FameLab Northern Ireland. Since then, she’s gone on to win FameLabUK, reach the international finals, and begin a career in science communication.

Applications open today and close on 15 December 2023.

The NI FameLab regional final will be held during the NI Science Festival in February 2024.

We will run an open training session to give you all the skills in November 2023 – check back for details.
