Wilde Dining

Food For Thought
Wilde Dining
Event Description

Nestled on the tranquil shores of Lough Erne, Enniskillen Castle stands as an enduring symbol of County Fermanagh’s rich and complex history. This formidable fortress, with its historic significance, stunning architecture, and the wealth of stories it holds, offers visitors a unique opportunity to delve into the past and explore the cultural heritage of Northern Ireland.

In association with the Northern Ireland Science Festival Archaeologist Cormac McSparron will join the Wilde Dining, “Fire” themed event discussing ancient food, cooking and feasting. Hear what our ancient ancestors ate, how they prepared their meals and what their dining customs were like, based on evidence from archaeological sites, excavations and historical sources.
