Event Description
Step aboard the historic barge on Belfast’s River Lagan for a journey through our waterways—past and future. This drop-in event brings water science to life with engaging workshops, thought-provoking talks, and interactive demonstrations.
On the day, we’ll be joined by Science Sue, who will explore Climate Chemistry, along with some of our wonderful water scientists. The RSPB will also be on hand to share insights into local wildlife and conservation. Plus, there will be LEGO-building workshops, and W5 will present their exciting show: Extreme Existence: The Deep.
Please note:
- Parental Supervision: Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while on the barge.
- Limited Pram Parking: Space is limited onboard, so we recommend traveling light as pram parking is restricted during.
- Access & Location: The Belfast Barge is located just behind the Waterfront Hall. Please familiarise yourself with nearby parking options in advance.
- Boarding Safety: Take extra care when stepping aboard, as surfaces may be uneven or slippery.
Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope you enjoy the event!
