Unloved ‘plants’ - Mosses, Liverworts & Lichens
Event Details

Join natural sciences curator Mike Simms for a leisurely guided tour of some of the natural sites at the Ulster Folk Museum to examine close-up some of the ‘lower plants’ that are so often overlooked. Discover their miniature beauty, learn about their importance to ecosystems, what they can tell us about our environment, and why Ireland is a mossy ‘hot spot’. Bring a hand lens/loupe/magnifying glass if you can.

Please meet at the waterpump in the town diamond.

This event will involve a walk in the Museum, please dress appropriately.
