Event Description

A guided geo-hike up to the summit of Slieve Gullion, the highest mountain in county Armagh and also the site of some world renowned geological formations - in the form or of the world's first fully mapped ring dyke feature - and also an ancient archaeological passage tomb on it's summit!

Follow our mountain leader and Earth Scientist guides for some fascinating history, geology and even myths surrounding Fionn Mac Cumhaill, known for his famous exploits at the UNESCO site of Giant's Causeway.

This walk is a full day event, meeting at the car park 9am and finishing roughly at 3pm. Appropriate mountain footwear is required, as are waterproofs, plenty of layers, water and lunch
