In this two-part workshop, participants will make a unique fused glass piece. You will:

  • Learn about the science and history of glass from its beginnings through to the likely provenance of the local glass on display
  • Discuss modern glass and how that differs
  • See/feel firsthand the science and explore the chemistry behind glass fusion/reaction
  • Learn to cut and place the glass ready for firing, including techniques such as the sgrafitto technique (as seen in the museum)
