Feeling the Heat - Belfast Heat and Climate Change Walking Tour
Event Description

As the Earth’s climate warms, risks associated with summer heatwaves are increasing globally, Belfast included. Following a sell-out at the 2023 festival, this tour of the city returns as we explore the heat risk across Belfast, as mapped by the Met Office and University of Bristol.

Developed in partnership with Climate Northern Ireland, the tour highlights both high and low-risk areas within the city, with various stopping points to see what makes an area vulnerable or resilient. There will also be plenty of time to answer your questions.

  • Meeting Point - Ormeau Park Tennis Courts

The route is approximately 4km long and will end at Belfast City Hall, so we recommend comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately. The topic might be hot but the February weather probably won’t be!
