Event Description
Mainstream media can be influential in triggering constructs associated with our judgments of immigrants, refugees or asylum seekers. These judgements are often devoid of the own perspective of the refugee. Virtual reality provides users with the opportunity to embody, rather than just observe, digital representations of stigmatised groups and to put us ‘in their shoes’.
Following an introduction to our research in this area, we invite you to step into our immersive virtual experience and discover how embodying a refugee in their process of claiming asylum might influence our attitudes and beliefs about the topic and the people.
