Mind & Body
Digital Cadavers - Teaching Anatomy with Technology
Event Description

This live event is presented by Anatomist Dr Marise Heyns, and will demonstrate the interactive learning approach utilised at the School of Medicine, Ulster University, incorporating virtual dissection tables, medical imaging and ultrasound. Ulster University is ahead of most other medical schools in United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland with the incorporation of Anatomage tables and in the use of ultrasound as basic teaching tools in anatomy.

A short presentation will lead to an interactive demonstration of the various learning tools, and participants will be taken through a typical, hands-on practical teaching session, where they can visualise the structures and organs within the body, making use of the Anatomage tables, X-Ray, MRI, CT and Ultrasound.

  • This event will take place in the MB Building at the Derry~Londonderry Campus (formally Magee).

Refreshments will be available after the event: Coffee/Tea/Juice and biscuits
