Mind & Body
An Anatomical Workshop on Respiration and Deglutition (Breathing and Swallowing)
Event Description

Discover the science behind respiration and deglutition - more commonly known as breathing and swallowing - in this fun, interactive workshop. Using a combination of 3D animation and advanced computer graphics, we’ll show you how these two fascinating processes - which are happening constantly in our bodies – operate.

Our expert will give a demonstration of the four stages of swallowing and the mechanism of breathing, as well as providing insights into the effect of common conditions like asthma on respiration. We’ll also explain how some diseases can cause swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) and there’ll be a chance to participate in interactive learning stations afterwards.
