Event Description

How many steps should we be aiming for and how do our daily steps relate to health? This interactive workshop will demystify common misconceptions using the latest research.

Whether on your smartwatch or smartphone, many of us regularly track our steps. However, how many steps should we be aiming for, and how do our daily steps actually relate to health?

This interactive workshop will demystify common misconceptions on how many steps are enough, the speed we should be walking, and the optimal times during the day to walk to achieve health benefits, by discussing the latest scientific research.

Using interactive tasks, you’ll get to compare your steps to averages across various population groups and see what it is like to walk at moderate and vigorous intensities. Whether you’re a number cruncher, or just a casual ambler, this session will help you to see steps in a whole new way.
