Event Description

This event will be an interactive workshop for parents and children (pre-school and primary school) with hands-on activities focusing on child development – for example, early mathematics skills, language development, and literacy.

At the event, researchers will provide parents with evidence-based ideas and activities, for example to help engage their children in learning at home. What parents do with their children at home is very important for young children’s learning.

Resources will include co-created materials that were developed with parents and educators, including mathematics resources from the PLUS study: Play and Learning at Ulster and Sheffield. Ideally, children will attend the workshop so that parents can try out the ideas at the same time and be partners in play and learning! Parents will receive resources to be used during the workshop which they can take home.
