You will dive into a world of hands-on experiments, jaw-dropping live shows, robotics demonstrations, and interactive exhibitions, all designed to ignite your imagination and spark a lifelong love of science.
Don’t miss The Chemistry and the Celts by Scientific Sue! Join Scientific Sue for a spectacular, high-energy performance blending history, chemistry, and culture in a show that’s as entertaining as it is educational. Expect fizz, flame, and plenty of fun as science comes alive before your eyes! With exhibitors including Loughs Agency, Water NI, Bat Conservation Ireland, Food Standards Agency, GeoEnergy Discovery Centre, CAPNI, CCA, W5, Nerve Centre, Allstate, Intelligent Systems Research Centre, and many more, there’s something to fascinate every budding scientist.
Whether you are inspired by the natural world, excited by cutting-edge technology, or simply love a great day out, the Foyle Science Showcase promises an unforgettable celebration of science in action.
Here’s some useful information ahead of the day:
You can arrive ANY TIME between 10-5pm. The main space in Foyle Arena will be divided into two; Hall 2 will host our exciting interactive exhibitors who will be there all day for you to visit as you please; and Hall 1 will host timed performances.
We’re expecting the day to be very busy so where possible we advise you to make your way to the venue on foot or public transport. Plan your journey via translink.co.uk
Although there is free parking at Foyle Arena, this will fill up quickly with regular visitors to the park and centre, and it is advised to use this for drop off or disabled parking only.
There will be additional free parking at Ebrington and Oakgrove Primary School. Look out for parking signage.
There are also numerous paid car parks in the city centre including Bishops Street, Foyle Road, Strand Road, with a short walk across the Peace Bridge, through Ebrington and up to Foyle Arena.
Disabled parking is available at all the above car parks.
There is a cafe and vending machines in the centre, a small convenience store 5 mins walk away on Limavady road, and a few cafes/restaurants at Ebrington. There are also a few picnic tables around the centre and in the park.
We will have a videographer there on the day who will be filming and taking images to record the day’s activities, if you do not want to be captured please notify a member of staff.
