Meditation has been scientifically known to lower blood pressure, improve heart rate and reduce muscle tension, all of which help you to reduce stress and anxiety, and therefore build up your defences against illness and infections. Aine McDaid has been practicing meditation for 5 years, first in London where she began her training, then continued to develop her skills when she returned home to Ireland. Aine has trained in Vipassana meditation and more recently has begun to practice transcendental meditation. Aine will give a short talk on the benefits and importance of meditation and will guide us through a meditation suitable for complete beginners and seasoned meditators alike.
