Capturing the beauty of the night sky is not only is a highly rewarding experience but it gives you a deeper connection to our place and the universe beyond. Northern Ireland is renowned to have some wonderful locations for exactly this, away from noise and light pollution we are spoilt for choice. As part of our on-going partnership with Belfast Exposed, the NI Science Festival will host our first Night Sky Photography Workshop at Ballintoy. The event will be lead and delivered by notable Belfast photographer Mervyn Smyth who has over 30 years of photography experience capturing images across Northern Ireland.
Whatever your abilities Mervyn will be at hand to advise and enable you to gain the photography skills required to create quality photographic images which will then be exhibited within Belfast Exposed.
The price includes a tutorial and workshop, a loan of cameras and tripods for participants (if required). As this will be an outdoor event we advise that your dress in warm and bring waterproof clothing, a flask and some energy snacks!
