Event Description

On Sunday 16th of August, Maps & Memories will be taking part in National Heritage Week with a full day of activities. Including a walking tour with local historian and map enthusiast, Mark Doherty.

Walk in the footsteps of the map-makers and discover the mapping heritage of the Queen’s Belfast area.

Starting outside the Ulster Museum, this walk is free to join, but booking is essential. Please book your space by emailing: info@nisciencefestival.com

✨We would highly encourage anyone attending the walk to also consider joining us beforehand at our event at the Ulster Museum. Join Maps & Memories at the Ulster Museum to celebrate National Heritage Week and explore the 200-year history of the Ordnance Survey in Ireland. Hear from leading experts dedicated to protecting and raising awareness of the Ordnance Survey’s legacy, and discover how it continues to shape and define our modern landscape.
