Wed-Lough: A Cycle of Duets from Nature

Sunday 18 February, 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm

Suitability: All Ages

Free.

From October 2017 to January 2018, writer and composer, Reggie Chamberlain-King, is artist-in-residence at Oxford Island National Nature Reserve at Lough Neagh. He can trace his family back to a shotgun wedding on the shores of the lough in the 18th century and, in this, the year of his own marriage, he aims to compare and contrast those human experiences with the bonding behaviours, mating rituals, and survival instincts of the unique flora and fauna of the reserve: the themes of life itself. This performance will be the premier of Wed-Lough, the work produced during the residency, a new cycle of duets for a mix of instruments, spoken word, and field recordings.
